FM 2026, CR 4293 Scene of Major Two-Vehicle Crash

June 17, 2019 - FM 2026 (Folsom Chapel Road) and CR 4293 was the scene of a major two-vehicle head-on collision Sunday, June 16, 2019.

Three were transported by ambulance from the scene for treatment of unknown injuries. 

According to Texas Department of Public Safety State Trooper Jesse Fountain, at around 10:20pm a 1997 GMC Sonoma driven by Emilio Bustos, 62, was southbound on FM 2026. When the GMC reached CR 4293, Bustos attempted to turn onto that roadway in front of a silver 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Kelsey Strong, 19, of Center who was northbound on FM 2026. 

The resulting collision was head-on, leaving the Chevrolet facing north in the northbound lane and the GMC across the southbound lane facing west.

Bustos and two passengers were trapped in the vehicle until Center Fire Department firemen assisted EMS in moving them to waiting ambulances.  

Cerilia Bustos, 61, and an 11-year-old minor male child were transported to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital in Nacogdoches for treatment while Emilio Bustos was taken to Nacogdoches Medical Center - Shelby Emergency Department for treatment of his injuries.

Strong was not reported to have been injured in the crash.
