Friends of Mission Dolores Annual Meeting Sept. 23rd

September 22, 2022 - All members, and anyone interested in learning about the exciting events to come at Mission Dolores State Historic Site, are encouraged to attend this year's Annual Meeting of the Friends of Mission Dolores (FOMD). The meeting will be at 12-noon, Friday, September 23, 2022 at the Mission site. Board members will provide a light lunch.

At this meeting Site Staff will present their schedule of upcoming programs, and be available for questions. Site Manager Amanda McVay and board member Betty Oglesbee will discuss the plans for the highly anticipated reconstruction of Mission Dolores, currently in the planning stage. This project has been a dream of the San Augustine community for many years, and it’s reality is in our sights! In addition, the annual meeting is when volunteers are recognized for their service and donors are acknowledged for their generous contributions.

The business part of the meeting includes election of FOMD officers by the current members. A slate of officers will be presented by the Nominating Committee, and nominations can also be made from the floor. Currently serving officers are Dr. George Avery, President; Linda Goller, Vice-President; Ellen Reeder, Secretary; Linda “Mike” Alexander, Treasurer; and Betty Oglesbee, Organizer.

Attendees who are not currently members of FOMD are invited to the meeting to get acquainted with the organization, and may sign up at the close of the meeting if they so desire.

FOMD is a philanthropic organization, and donations are encouraged. To find out more, go to www.thc.texas.gov/historic-sites/mission-dolores-state-historic-site or facebook.com/fomdtx, or contact any of the officers.
