August 10, 2026 - The Center Garden Club is proud to announce Lois Chandler of 418 Carroll Street as the recipient of the August "Yard of the Month" award.
Chandler, a 40-year resident of the home, is no stranger to receiving community recognition for her green thumb; this award marks the third time her vibrant property has earned the title. While some of her garden perennials return each spring, Chandler dedicates significant time each season to replanting and meticulously maintaining her extensive flower display.
In addition to personally planting and tending to all of her flowers, Chandler handles the mowing for her backyard. Her son-in-law, Kevin Keys, assists by maintaining the front lawn.
The Center Garden Club congratulates Lois Chandler on her hard work and dedication to keeping Center beautiful.
