May 13, 2019 - “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.” (Psalm 1:1-3)
For all that are blessed to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and to have God as their sword and their shield in times of trouble, rest assured in the security of his promise of eternal life with him.
“For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” (2 Corinthians 5:1)
As such we look forward to that day when we will stand, each one, before the judgement seat of Christ and be accepted into the kingdom of God in heaven.
“For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.” (2 Corinthians 5:10)
“For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.” (2 Corinthians 5:14-15)
What a glory awaits all who wait upon the Lord and do his will on earth…
“The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgement, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.” (Psalm 1: 4-6)
For all who have rejected the gift of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ, a much different day is coming, a day of eternal punishment, a day of continual torment and suffering.
“But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgement and destruction of the ungodly.” (2 Peter 3:7)
“The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)
God does not condemn anyone to hell, no, they condemn themselves by their non-belief in Jesus Christ as Lord of all. God wishes that all should come and repent of their sin and accept Jesus as Lord, but, God will not force his love on anyone, that is for each to decide by his own free will, life or death, heaven of hell, all must decide one or the other.
“But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.” (2 Peter 3:10)
“Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:14-15)
Only the names of those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior are written in the book of life! Is your name there? It can be if you simply turn from your wicked ways, and call upon him for forgiveness.
Come, accept Jesus as your Lord today, come and wait with us who have given ourselves to the Lord and have become children of the Most High God, come today.
“But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.” (2 Peter 3:13)
Blessed be the name of our Lord…
