Happenings at Shelbyville Hill Festival Draws Much Support

October 20, 2015 - A large crowd enjoyed the Happenings at Shelbyville Hill Festival held this past Saturday in downtown Shelbyville, Texas.

With a wide variety of homemade, custom crafts to buy and great festival food, patrons spent the day under shade trees enjoying great entertainment by Bluebirds Rock and Blues Band in the morning and Blake Brothers Bluegrass in the afternoon.

Children enjoyed apple bobbing and lots of bounce house fun.

Best Decorated Pumpkin - Gumball machine by Lily Martin

Guess the Weight of the Big Pumpkin Contest (weighing 104 lbs, 4 oz)
1st Place - Michael Paul Kay won a $50 gift card
2nd Place - Paul Taylor won the pumpkin
3rd Place - Jerry Pinkston won a $25 gift card

1st place - Roger and Karen Fancher
2nd place - Pat Sherman and Sandra Mims

Washer Tournament Contest - 1st place, Rusty Jones and Jacob Best

Glenn Johnson, Shelbyville Lions Club President, was happy with the event result, expressed appreciation to supporters and looks forward to its continued growth, "So far it has went good; it has been a good year this year. Everybody seems to be enjoying their-self and everything went fine. I would like to thank everybody, all the sponsors, and all the vendors, everybody, the newspapers, Shelby County Today. Hope we have a bigger one next year."
