June 23, 2025 - Formed in 2022, Happy Tails Adoption Center’s mission is to improve and protect the lives of animals in our community and alleviate their suffering and abuse. Happy Tails provides care, comfort and compassion to animals in need while engaging the hearts, hands and minds of our community to bring about an end to the killing of abandoned and orphaned animals.
Thanks to Dr. Robert Hughes and his family, Happy Tails Adoption Center moved into their current location at 664 Hwy 7 East (Hughes Veterinary Clinic) in July 2024. To mark the one year Anniversary in this location, there will be a special Open House and Ribbon Cutting on Saturday, July 19th at 11am. The community is invited to join the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, the Happy Tails staff and volunteers to celebrate.
Happy Tails is a limited intake low-kill shelter that relies solely on donations and grants. Happy Tails always invites anyone to stop and/or contact them to volunteer with several of their programs. They are open from 9am-5pm Monday through Friday and on Saturday, 9am-noon and 2pm-5pm. The animals would love to see you.
