November 18, 2024 - This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Arkansas, southwest Arkansas, north central Louisiana, northwest Louisiana, southeast Oklahoma, east Texas and northeast Texas.
Day One: Today and tonight. Thunderstorms will move into the ArkLaTex late this morning and into the afternoon hours. As these storms trek east across the region, they will be capable or producing damaging wind gusts. The line of storms looks to reorganize this afternoon, along with the development of isolated thunderstorms ahead of the main line. With these storms this afternoon and evening, the development of tornadoes will be possible, particularly east of the I-49 corridor in north Louisiana and extreme southern Arkansas.
Days Two Through Seven: Tuesday through Sunday. A stronger cold front will arrive on Wednesday, resulting in gusty north to northwest winds as gusts may reach as high as 30 to 40 mph. Cold air in wake of this front will also allow temperatures to drop near freezing in some of our northern zones on both Wednesday night and Thursday night. Therefore, preventative actions to winterize and prevent damage to sensitive outdoor property should be exercised.
Spotter Information Statement: Spotter activation is not expected at this time.
