Help Restock the Shelves of the Shelby County Children's Advocacy Center

November 16, 2015 - Center Intermediate School (CIS) community service group, CR3 (Community, Roughriders, Respectful, & Responsible) Service, has elected to hold a "supply" drive to restock the shelves of our Shelby County Children's Advocacy Center.

Items needed are books, movies (G or PG rated), craft supplies, and toys. Your donation is greatly appreciated!

The Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) is where children of abuse (or possible abuse) go when a CPS or cry out is made. Instead of going to a police station or questioned/interviewed in a scary location, children are taken to the CAC instead. (by trained forensic interviewers, etc). They also set up any medical exams (if needed), provide counseling and other outreach services.

The crafts, books, and movies are for the children to have something to do while they are staying at the CAC and a lot of times these items will go with them if they are removed from their home. (If they are removed they only have what is with them so the CAC tries to replace items for them.) I have their mission statement below as well as some links to our CAC.
