March 18, 2019 - Though it was closed a half century ago and fell into disrepair, a portion of the old Timpson North School still stands. Timpson City Councilwoman Teri Alexander will speak to the Timpson Area Genealogical and Heritage Society's March 20th meeting about efforts which are underway to obtain 501C status and historical designation for the site. Those working toward this designation need information about the school's history and TAGHS invites anyone who attended the North Timpson School or is interested in preserving this landmark to attend this meeting. Those having memorabilia from the school are asked to bring it to the meeting to display and share.
TAGHS meets at 2PM on the third Wednesday of each month (March 20th) in the Meeting Room behind the Timpson Public Library on the corner of Austin and Bremond Streets in downtown Timpson.
