December 29, 2015 - Hurst Street in front of Wal Mart in Center was the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday, December 22, 2015.
According to Center Police Officer Jake Gross, at 4:46pm a call was received of a crash at the 800 block of Hurst Street. A 2007 Chevrolet Impala driven by Bridgette Parks, 28, of Center was crossing Hurst Street from Foster Street to enter the Wal Mart parking lot when a 2006 Dodge pickup truck driven by Johnny Glaze, 48, of Joaquin was traveling south on Hurst Street in the outside lane.
Parks failed to yield right of way at a stop sign crossing the roadway, being struck by the Dodge causing major damage to both vehicles.
Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers Dustin Ramos and Ricardo Segura assisted Center Police Sgt. Duane Gordon with traffic control.
No injuries were reported as a result of the crash. Parks was cited at the scene for failure to yield right of way at a stop sign.
