May 25, 2021 - Ja'Kayla Parks is the recipient of the Legends of the Ball, Inc. $1,000 "Legends Scholarship" for her academic and sports achievements.

Legends of the Ball, Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit organization founded by twelve members of the WBL (Women's Professional Basketball League) which was the first viable women's professional basketball league in the United States.

It is the organizations mission to inspire future generations to break through barriers, realize their potential, and become leaders for positive change.

As pioneers of TITLE IX, the AIAW, and the WBL, the members of LOB, Inc. exemplify their mission of “passing it on and paying it forward” to the next generation. They encourage them to recognize the history that was made and help empower them to make their own.

Scholarships are part of the LOB, Inc. educational platform that seeks to assist young female student-athletes in their post-secondary careers while appreciating the value of sports, education and the road that was paved for them.
