Joaquin Elementary Students of the Month for December

December 1, 2016 - Joaquin Elementary School announces the Students of the Month for December 2016.

Pre-K - Addi Cummings

Addi’s favorite thing to do is play with her cat, baby kitty, and sing at school. She loves to dance at school also. Addi was nominated because she is a good listener and a hard worker. Addi is very polite to her teacher and friends. She also has super manners!

Kindergarten - Covee Cox

Covee likes to skate and color. Her favorite food is chicken fries and ice-cream. Her favorite animal is a dog. When Covee grows up she wants to be a vet. Covee is very sweet, kind and a great helper.

1st Grade - Jacob Griffin.

Jacob has one brother and his name is Jackson. Jacob likes to go to rodeos. He ropes calves on his horse. His favorite subject is Reading. Jacob is a true delight. He is always smiling and always on task. He completes his work without saying a word.

2nd Grade - Urijah Floyd

Urijah likes to help people and play with his friends. He loves his family and pizza. His favorite animal is a cheetah and he loves art class. He is very helpful in the classroom as well as polite. He has a great personality and humor. Great job, Urijah!

3rd grade - Karson Rogers

Karson enjoys playing video games and sports. His favorite video game is Madden 17. His favorite food is watermelon and his favorite subject is Math! His favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because it's so close to his birthday. One year, he got to celebrate his birthday on Thanksgiving! Congratulations to Karson.

4th Grade - Olivia O’Rear

The fourth grade teachers have selected Olivia O’Rear as the December student of the month. Olivia has a positive attitude and is a hard worker. She never lets herself get defeated and is always uplifting others. Olivia’s favorite meal is her mom’s vegetable soup. The subject she most enjoys is writing, and she said a teacher who has made a difference in her life is Mrs. Vera Knight. In her spare time she likes to play softball and spend time with her sister. She also delights in helping others, especially at the nursing home. When asked if she had any advice for other students, she said, “Remember school is good, and it is good to learn.”

5th Grade - Shelby Freeman

Shelby wrote the following about herself: Hi, my name is Shelby Freeman and I am honored to be chosen as the 5th grade student of the month. One of my favorite things to do is UIL. I am competing in six events, which include spelling, art smart, number sense, dictionary skills, listening skills, and creative writing. I also enjoy taking twirling lessons. My favorite subject in school is reading. I am active in Joaquin Elementary Student Council and Joaquin Elementary Beta Club where I serve in the position of treasurer.
