Joaquin ES Announces October Students of the Month

October 3, 2016 - Joaquin Elementary School announces their October students of the month for Pre-K through fifth grade.

Pre-K Student of the Month: Allison Martin

Allison likes to watch TV when she gets home from school. She likes to listen to her brother read his books. Allison always helps her friends and is a super listener in class.

Kindergarten Student of the Month: Lizeth Rodriguez

Kindergarten student of the month is Lizeth Rodriguez. Lizeth likes to play inside with her cars. Her favorite food to eat is spaghetti. Lizeth was nominated because she is kind, a good listener and always does her best.

1st Grade Student of the Month: Brent Cummings

Brent likes to play school with his brother and do his homework. His favorite TV show is SpongeBob SquarePants and his favorite subject is Reading! When he grows up he would like to be a Firefighter. He goes above and beyond the classroom and school expectations without being asked. He comes to school excited and gives his best all the time. He is a pleasure to have in class and a wonderful example of what a good citizen should be. Great job Brent!!

2nd Grade Student of the Month: Kaylee McCarty

Kaylee loves the color pink, Trix cereal and watching TV. Her favorite channel is "Me TV" where she watches old shows like Andy Griffin. Her favorite subject is Reading and she loves Dr. Suess' Cat in the Hat. Her favorite food is Hamburger Helper Cheesy Enchilada. She loves to listen to songs on KidzBop.  

Kaylee was chosen because she is a hard worker, great helper and shows kindness to others.

3rd Grade Student of the Month: David Guevara

David likes to watch his brother draw great Pokemon pictures. David’s favorite food is vanilla ice cream and he loves to play soccer. His favorite subject is reading.

4th Grade Student of the Month: Emma Broadus

The fourth grade teachers would like to recognize Emma Broadus as October's 4th Grade Student of the Month. Emma has been chosen because she is a hard worker. She always has a positive attitude and is willing the help others.

Emma’s favorite subject is writing. She enjoys eating pizza and jumping on her trampoline outside. Emma also likes reading the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. She hopes to one day become a teacher. The teacher that has had to most influence on Emma is Mrs. Casey Gamble. When asked if she had any advice for other students, she advised, “Always pay attention and ask questions.”

5th Grade Student of the Month: Emma Graves

Emma wrote the following about herself:

My name is Emma Graves, and I am honored to be chosen as the 5th grade student of the month. My favorite subject is math. My hobbies include twirling, softball, and hunting. I go to FBC Logansport, and I am very active in the AWANA program. This is my 7th year at JES and I am looking forward to many great years at Joaquin.
