December 2, 2019 - A Hallmark Christmas Festival and Parade is coming to downtown Joaquin on Saturday, December 7, 2019! There will be live music featuring Trey Wilson, Lambert/Cox Family and local talent. The Treasure Hunt for $250 is on again with clues starting at 10am! There will be free activities for kids including games and bounce house.
A full schedule of events includes:
- Car Show from 10am until 2pm
The City of Joaquin would like to invite everyone to a fun filled day to show off your pride and joy! We will be hosting all year models cars, trucks, and ratrods. Entry fee is $20. Awards will be presented to 1st and 2nd place in the following categories: cars years 1972 and before, cars years after 1972, trucks years 1972 and before, trucks years after 1972, and Ratrods. A People's Choice Award will also be presented chosen from all entries. Registration starts at 10am and must be entered by 10:45 to be considered for judging. Awards will be presented at 2pm.
- Gingerbread Contest from 10:30am until 11:30am
- Cake Walk hosted by Community Christain Services at 1pm
- A Hallmark Christmas Festival Parade at 3pm
The parade is free to enter with line up starting at 2pm behind the Joaquin Elementary. This year's Grand Marshal is Mr. A.J. Procell. Call City Hall to enter at 936-269-3021. Money prize awarded to 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place.
- Annual Raffle and Auction presented by East Texas Chopper Guys at 3:30pm
- Santa Pictures with Mrs. Claus as well from 3:30pm until 5pm (free)
- Tree Lighting ceremony at 5pm
Vendor spaces are $20 for a 10x10 space. Food, Arts and Crafts, or Home-Based Businesses are welcome. Tables, chairs, tents, extension are not provided.
