Joaquin VFD Report Includes One Call for Last Week of June; Fundraiser Drawing July 4

July 3, 2023 - Over the week of June 25th through July 1st the Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department responded to just 1 call. Here’s a summary of the week’s event.

Monday night at 10:59pm a call was received for a single vehicle accident on the Flat Fork Creek bridge. The driver of a Kia sedan struck the guardrail across the opposite lane of the bridge and bounced back to the other side hitting the concrete barrier. Allegiance EMS arrived on scene to tend to the driver and the JVFD responded to provide traffic control until the vehicle could be removed from the roadway.

In other news, the deadline to buy tickets for the JVFDs multi-item raffle is rapidly approaching. The drawing will be held July 4th on the riverfront in Logansport just before the fireworks begin. Each item will be drawn for one at a time and the people selected to win do not have to be present. Here is a list of all the prizes available this year:

Those interested in purchasing tickets can contact Stephen Ewing at (903)407-3030 or Michael Bates at (936) 332-4389. Tickets are in short supply, so don’t delay.

With that, this edition of the report will come to a close. The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department hopes everyone has a safe week and a great Independence Day.
