Joaquin VFD Report for Week of Dec. 4-10 Includes 6 Medical Calls

December 12, 2022 - The week of December 4th through 10th was an active one for the Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department with 6 medical calls. Here’s a summary of the weeks events. 

Starting with Sunday, there was a call regarding a male with swollen legs causing pain on County Road 3590. The JVFD EMR team responded to check out the patient and assist Allegiance EMS.

Tuesday night a call was received for medical assistance on FM 2428, but once the JVFD arrived at the address the patient was nowhere to be found. It was later discovered that they had been transported to an emergency room via a personal vehicle.

Wednesday afternoon a call came through in reference to an elderly man who had passed out at a business on Highway 84 East. By the time the JVFD arrived the patient was sitting up, but would still need to be checked out by Allegiance EMS.

Friday morning had two calls within an hour of one another, with the first being in regards to an elderly female who had fallen on FM 3343 and the other an elderly male who was vomiting and feeling lethargic on County Road 3689.

The final call for the week came in Saturday morning for a male with a painful staph infection at a residence on Highway 84 East. The EMR team responded to check out the patient and get information for the ambulance crew that would arrive soon after.
