Judge Signs National Nursing Home Week Proclamation, May 10th-16th

May 11, 2015 - A proclamation was signed by Shelby County Judge Allison Harbison on May 11, 2015 in recognition of National Nursing Home Week.

The proclamation reads as follows:

Whereas, all residents of Shelby County have been given a proud legacy build upon the past and present contributions of our country's elderly and disabled people; and

Whereas, we salute the residents of our nursing facilities, many of whom planted the seeds that made our communities grow and prosper; and

Whereas, nursing facilities with dedicated staff members provide caring and supportive services that enable the highest possible quality of life for our loved ones; and

Whereas, we reflect and celebrate the past accomplishments of our seniors and people with disabilities while anticipating the possibilities of the future; and

Whereas, member facilities of the American Health Care Association and the Texas Health Care Association are providing a host of activities in observance3 of National Nursing Home Week guided by this year's theme, "Bring On the Fiesta!", beginning May 10th.

Now, therefore, I , Judge Allison Harbison, Judge of Shelby County, Hereby proclaim May 10th through May 16th, 2015 as National Nursing Home Week.

In the County of Shelby, State of Texas and urge all citizens to honor and serve the individuals who laid the foundations of Shelby County by participating in this year's National Nursing Home Week observance at one of our country's nursing facilities.
