May 7, 2016 - Album1, Album2 - The 38th Annual Take a Kid Fishing (TAKF) bream tournament was held at Huxley Bay Marina on Saturday, May 7, 2016 with Blake Koltonski and Allie Jones being named the overall winners.
Participants in the event fished throughout the morning and then had their fish weighed by the Shelby County Bass Anglers. Following their weigh-in, each participant was presented with a new rod and reel to take home. After the total number of participants had their fish weighed the winners in each division were determined. Lori Alvis, event coordinator/Center Broadcasting Manager, was the emcee of the awards ceremony.
Alvis thanked Huxley Bay Marina for allowing the event to be held there, and thanked Trails End for preparing and providing hot dogs, she also thanked Junior Chamber of Commerce members from Shelbyville High School and Middle School and all other volunteers.
"The Shelby County Bass Anglers are such a great co-host with the Center Broadcasting Company Team. We've had successful years, year after year, and this is our 38th year. I just want to say thank you to everyone and we appreciate everything," said Alvis.
The Overall winner of the Largest Single Bream division was Blake Koltonski who was presented a $100 gift card to Wal Mart in the name of Kenneth Folsom. The Overall Heaviest Stringer by weight was Allie Jones who also was awarded with a $100 gift card to Wal Mart in the name of Kenneth Folsom. Both of the gift cards were donated by the Shelby County Bass Anglers.
