Leadership Conference Sponsored by Farmers State Bank (RSVP May 31st)

May 31, 2019 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce announces there will be a Leadership Conference on Wednesday, June 5th, at the Windham Civic Center from 10am until 1:00pm.

The guest speaker will be Marcus Cox, an Associate Professor of Management in the Rusche College of Business at Stephen F. Austin State University. The title of his presentation is Multiple Generations in the Workforce and Changing Demographic Trends: What’s a Manager to Do?

Mr. Cox will discuss: the generations in today’s workforce and the stereotypes and problems associated with them; what every worker needs, regardless of the generation; how managers can help younger workers and capture the knowledge of older workers; and helping younger managers with more senior employees. He will also address the demographic changes in Texas and their impact in the workplace, how to manage a much more divers workforce, the legal aspects of human resource management and what all workers want in their jobs and from their bosses. There will be a working lunch with small group discussions.

The presentation is designed for business owners, managers, team members and professionals, and is open to the public.
