April 22, 2025 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Shelby County Class of 2024-2025 attended Education Day last week.
The Class started the day at F.L. Moffett Primary School. After a fun tour of F.L. Moffett, they walked to Center High School where they first toured the new Coliseum. Following the tour, they met with Heath Hagler who talked about the Roughrider Academy and Dr. Natalie Hand who gave an overview of CTE. Students showcased their work and studies throughout the halls CTE The Leadership class met: students in the athletic trainer program, culinary arts, health science, graphic arts, theater department, art department, band, welding, FFA and several students who had already started their own businesses. The Leadership class was very impressed with student talents and accomplishments.
The Leadership Class enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared and served by Culinary Arts students. The Class spent most of the afternoon at Panola College, both campuses, learning about all the LVN program, welding program, health science programs and more. Dr. Brian Morris met the Class at Center ISD administration to talk about Education, Center ISD and answer questions.
The class will attend Quality of Life Day next month.

Leadership Shelby County is a year long program presented by the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce designed to identify potential leaders and develop within these individuals the knowledge, skills and vision necessary to enable them to actively participate in the enhancement of the quality of life in their communities.
