Letter to the Editor (Thank You Terry Bailey)

February 14, 2019 - Melba Williams, a long time neighbor and friend to Terry Bailey and his wife Pam, published a thank you letter to Terry Bailey in 2015 for an act of kindness he did when a local family was suffering the loss of a loved one who had passed away out of state. Tomorrow will be two years since Terry and Pam Bailey passed away and their acts of kindness and love for others are still remembered.

Even after their passing, they continue to help others through "The Bailey Family Foundation." To learn more, visit online https://www.baileyfamilyfoundation.com/

Melba asked for her "Thank You Letter" to be rerun in their memory (Terry Glenn and Pam Hitt Bailey obituary).

February 24, 2015 - Being the fine person, I know you to be Terry Bailey, you have no idea how far it reaches - helping others.

Last week I was in Shreveport, LA and was sitting beside a couple celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. When I told them I was from Center, Texas he quickly asked if I knew the man from Center, Texas who had his jet plane go to Kansas to pick up his friend who had died on a hunting trip.

I said, "Yes, I not only know him, he's my next door neighbor Terry Bailey." He said, "That's him."

Terry, this friend, Scott Watson, brought home by you was also a friend to us all here in Center. That was some powerful phone call to Watson Funeral Home in Center, owned by Scott Watson. This is Terry Bailey - 'Let's go and bring Scott home. The plane is ready.'

Good deeds travel, we all know that. I found out later the man playing beside me was the Chief of Police down around San Antonio, Texas; I don't remember the name of the town.

I know, Terry, you have a relationship with God that goes both ways.

I love Jesus and I thank him every day for good friends. Our beloved family and wonderful friends are the only hope we have to deal with this thing - death!

I like this story and I also like the part about living in Center, Texas, Shelby County where we have 'some fine folks.'

God Bless!
