December 15, 2015 - Shelby Savings Bank President, Will Lucas, donated $500 to the CHS UIL organization. This money goes towards the annual UIL tournament CHS holds, and helps cover the costs of other expenses throughout the year.
The UIL academic program offers students an opportunity to participate in more than 30 events, such as computer applications, mathematics, journalism, and science. It gives students the opportunity to expand their knowledge in certain subjects that interest them, improve skills, and bring home awards from competitions with other schools around the state.
The Center UIL Academic Program has been successful throughout the years, and continues to grow. The district meet will be held in Rusk on April 5. Donations towards the organization are greatly appreciated and benefit more than 65 students at CHS.
