November 8, 2022 - A new owner ribbon cutting event was held at Mangum Funeral Home and the community celebrated with new owners Traci and Tony Willoughby.
Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors were on hand for this joyous occasion and Shelby County Chamber of Commerce President Deborah Chadwick thanked all in attendance for being there. She commented the business has been in Shelby County for 88 years before introducing the Willougbys and presenting them with their chamber of commerce membership plaque.
Tony Willoughby stated they took over Mangum Funeral Home on April 1 and started working on it that day. He described how they refurbished much of the building where the business resides.
"We're glad to be here in the community working it, we've got the compassion for it, I love it, I've had a good time since the day I took it over and I thank y'all for coming out," said Willoughby.
He commented further, "We're glad to be here and serve the community, serve the county and do what we can to keep this thing going, it's been here a long time and we plan on keeping it going a long time."
Mangum Funeral Home is located at 420 San Augustine Street in Center, Texas. They can be reach by phone at 936-598-3341.
