May Lunch and Learn to Highlight Mental Health Awareness Month

May 17, 2022 - The Chamber of Commerce Health Care Committee is hosting the May Lunch and Learn on Wednesday, May 25th at noon at the AgriLife Extension Office. Our guest speaker for May will be Dan Wilkins, Director of Cultivate Mental Health.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Mental Health includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being. Mental Health is important at every stage of life form childhood and adolescence through adulthood.

At Cultivate Mental Health they desire to not only provide the best therapeutic care but also Hope and Growth in all seasons of life. Cultivate Mental Health was founded in 2021. All of the counselors come with experience, heart and love. Currently they offer individual and family services. They are familiar with working with concerns such as Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Stress, Oppositional Defiant Behaviors, ADD/ADHD, Career Changes, Grief, Family Relations, Mood Disorders, Adjustment and many more.

Dr. Wilkins has worked in the mental health field for 48 years, primarily in private practice. Dr. Wilkins has his doctoral degree in Psychology. He earned his Master’s Degree in counseling from Stephen F. Austin State University. He is licensed by the Texas Department of Health as a Licensed Professional Counselor and as a Marriage and Family Therapist.

At the Lunch and Learn, Dan will be sharing his knowledge and helpful hints on how to keep life’s stresses in check.
