Mechanical Failure Results in Crash on FM 415

June 14, 2017 - FM 415 was the scene of a single-vehicle crash due to mechanical failure involving a delivery truck June 13, 2017 just before the intersection of CR 4088.

Timpson emergency personnel with the Timpson Volunteer Fire Department and Timpson Volunteer Ambulance Service were first to the scene of the incident.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety State Trooper Sean Smith, at 12:18pm Jeremy Hammers, 41, of Timpson was driving a 2017 Cub Cadet owned by McCoys Building Supply out of Nacogdoches east on FM 415. As Hammers approached CR 4088, he stated his air brakes went out and once he applied his brakes the pedal went all the way to the floor.

The truck left the roadway to the right and hit a road sign before traveling over a culvert and striking two trees that were side by side, head-on.

No injuries were reported as a result of the crash. Hammers was issued a citation for failure to drive in a single lane.

Timpson Volunteer firemen diverted traffic from the scene until a wrecker could remove the truck.
