Moody Announces Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Candidacy

December 6, 2017 - My name is Tommy Moody and I would like to announce my candidacy for the office of Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 in the March 2018 Republican Primary. I am a lifelong resident of Shelby County, graduating from Center High School. My wife of 44 years is Linda McMahon Moody and we have one son, Brad, his wife Kaylyn and our 3 precious grandchildren, Macy, Gracie and Brayden. My parents are Freddie Moody and the late Dan Moody of Center.

I have spent my life here in Shelby County, raising my family and working. I have been in the home building and carpentry business most all my life, with the past 20+ years working for myself in the home remodeling business. I also have a poultry farm and raise cattle.

I realize that the office of Justice of the Peace is very important for the county. I also know that with the office comes a lot of responsibility. I want the voters to know that I will be 100% committed to accepting that responsibility if elected to this office. In my business, I deal with the public on a daily basis, making decisions (sometime difficult ones), working out problems and solving issues as they arise with my customers. I feel this experience will be beneficial and I can carry that over to this position in a positive way. I am confident I can be fair, honest and consider all sides of matters that might come before me as JP. I will be available 24/7 to the public and work closely and professionally with the other Justices in the County, as well as law enforcement and other County officials.

I have no doubt that I can do this job and do it well. I will work hard for you, the citizens of Precinct 1.  If elected, I will get all the necessary training prior to taking office so that I will be ready for work on day one.

Thank you,
Tommy Moody
