Willis Blackwell Announces Candidacy for Sheriff

December 8, 2023 - I would like to announce my candidacy for Shelby County Sheriff. Many of you know me as I retired as your Sheriff in 2020. I quickly found out I am not ready for retirement. I’ve spent the last three years cooking up some pretty good steaks until about 2 months ago, when I was offered the position of Investigator for the District and County Attorney offices. I have given this a lot of thought and with so many calls encouraging me to run again, I have decided to do so.

John Price Announces Candidacy for Shelby County Attorney

November 14, 2023 - About a year and a half ago now, several people who I respect came to me and asked me to accept the appointment to the office of Shelby County Attorney. As many of you know, I have been a civil litigator here for over 50 years. In those years there isn't much in a courtroom I haven't done or seen, with the exception of standing up and announcing, "Ready" for the State of Texas. I have now had that experience as well as the experience of attending commissioner's court every week. What I have found is that representing the people is extraordinarily rewarding.

Cheatwood Announces Candidacy for Precinct 3 Constable

November 2, 2023 - I, Roy Cheatwood, want to announce that I would appreciate the voters of Precinct 3 Shelby County’s consideration to be re-elected for Constable. Since being elected into office, I believe that I have done what I promised. I'm grateful for the opportunity and support that y'all have shown since being first elected in 2016, and again in 2021. Elected by the people, to hold one of the highest office in Texas, is overwhelming. I believe the citizens want a Constable, not a police officer, Big Difference, I do however work my own cases most of the time.
