Nationally Recognized Chamber Executive to Keynote Timpson Area Chamber Membership Banquet

December 13, 2016 - C. Wayne Mitchell, president and CEO of the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce will keynote the 2017 Timpson Area Chamber of Commerce membership banquet, scheduled for Thursday, January 19, 2017.

Timpson Area Chamber of Commerce President Paul Smith said the annual membership dinner is an opportunity for the community to come together and kick off the new year with excitement. “The business owners and the Timpson Chamber is looking forward to an exciting 2017, and we are equally excited about having Wayne Mitchell of the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce for our banquet guest speaker,” Smith said.

Mitchell comes to East Texas from Augusta, Maine, where he served as a nationally recognized Chamber management and consultant and motivational speaker. He has facilitated hundreds of Chamber strategic planning sessions and authored more than 50 educational programs for the United States Chamber of Commerce Institute Program. His also served as president and CEO of the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce in Augusta.

"During Wayne’s time with Kennebeck Chamber, he was successful in doubling the Chamber membership, adding many new programs including a community leadership program, and many new services to benefit the Chamber investors," Smith said.

A graduate of the U.S. Chamber Institute for Organizational Management, Mitchell served on the Institute faculty for 22 years.

The banquet will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2017, at the Family Life Building of First Baptist Church, 715 North Second Street in Timpson.

Open to the public tickets available for purchase at the door. Member rate is $10, and non-members price is $12. There will be no charge for 2017 Gold level members or guest. Membership applications to join the Timpson Area Chamber of Commerce will also be available at the event.
