NWS Extends Severe Thunderstorm Warning Until 5am (Update)

April 29, 2016 - (Update) The Thunderstorm warning has expired and a Severe Thunderstorm Watch is now in effect until 5am.

April 29, 2016 - The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southeastern Rusk County, Southwestern Panola County, Northwestern San Augustine County, Northern Nacogdoches County and Western Shelby County until 9:30pm CDT.

At 8:46pm CDT a severe thunderstorm was located over Nacogdoches moving northeast at 55mph. Hazardous 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail was indicated by radar.

Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damamge to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include: Nacogdoches, Carthage, Center, Tenaha, Timpson, Garrison, Trawick, Woden, Martinsville, Melrose, Cushing, Appleby, Mount Enterprise, Gary City, Oak Ridge, Jericho, James Woods, Arcadia and Stockman.

Precautionary/ Preparedness actions include for your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

A tornado watch remains in effect until 10:00pm CDT for Northeastern Texas.
