NWS Special Weather Statement for Shelby, Surrounding Counties

A strong thunderstorm will impact West Central Sabine Parish., East Central Nacogdoches, Eastern Shelby, Northern San Augustine And Northwestern Sabine Counties through 1pm cst.

At 12:22pm CST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Bland Lake, or 14 miles south of Center, moving northeast at 55 mph.

Hazard: Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and penny size hail.

Source: Radar indicated.

Impact: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.

Locations impacted include: Milam, San Augustine, Patroon, Shelbyville, Bland Lake, Neuville, Chireno, Huxley, Hurstown, Denning, Sexton, Calgary, Jericho, Toledo Bend Reservoir North, and Jordans Store.
