Panola College to Host Lunchbox Lecture, Dr. Alexander Korniyenko Remembers 9/11

August 17, 2016 - The M.P. Baker Library will host Remembering 9/11with special speaker Dr. Alex Korniyenko on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 in the Murphy-Payne Community rooms of the library. Dr. Korniyenko is a cardiologist with Tyler Cardiovascular Consultants. He is affiliated with six hospitals in the East Texas area and visits Carthage regularly to see patients at the local ETMC offices. Dr. Korniyenko began his medical career as an EMT with the New York City Fire Department. He was serving in his second week with this special group when tragedy struck and he was called to participate in the 911/WTC rescue mission. As the fifteenth anniversary of that fateful day approaches, Dr. Korniyenko will share with our community his eye-witness account of the event that launched America’s war on terror. 

The lecture is free and open to the public.  Doors will open at 12:00 pm with the lecture beginning at 12:15pm and lasting approximately 30 minutes.
