Poultry Festival Wrap-Up from Center Ag and FFA

October 5, 2015 - This past Saturday 97 student exhibitors from across the county participated in the 38th annual Poultry Festival by exhibiting their pen of "3 birds". Students began 6 weeks ago with 30 newly born chicks in hopes of feeding, watering, and growing them better than the rest. After 6 long weeks of working hard, students (with help of teachers and community members) picked 3 of the best (biggest) birds to show at Poultry Festival.

Center FFA & Center Jr. FFA placings were as follows:
Jr. FFA Member, Lance Holloway- Reserve Grand Champion
Caleb McDonald- 8th place
Logan Holloway- 10th place
Kaden LaRock- 21st
Ruben Soto- 40th
Clay Snider- 45th

Just missing the Sale:
Madelyn Eaves
Konner Windham
Jr. FFA Member: Kalei LaRock
Madison McMillan
Blake Griffin

Total earned by Center FFA & Jr. FFA students that made the sale: $14,799 (before added money). This is awesome!

Animal projects are a GREAT way for students to learn responsibility, hard work, and dedication! These students worked extremely hard and we are so proud of their accomplishments!

If any student would like to show through Center FFA (must be in an Agriscience Class) or Center Jr. FFA (at least 8 years of age AND in the 3rd grade- through the 8th grade) next year at the Poultry Festival, please look for emails about ordering birds around April.

Go Roughriders!
