March 7, 2020 - Officials with the National Forests and Grasslands in Texas, Sabine National Forest, have advised a prescribed burn located in Compartments 36, 1088 acres (Block A Only) in Shelby County on Saturday, March 7th only. This area is located in Goober Hill Community off forest service road 125 and 126. Please use caution and turn your lights on.
Please see the attached map of the projected burn areas. Winds will be East and Southeast at 6 mph gusting to 8 mph. Smoke may drift a long range and may affect some area.
Ignition time of 1000 and completion estimated at 1800 with helicopter assistant.
