Rotary Wins Lions/Rotary Washer Tournament

November 10, 2015 - Winning Rotary team - Gerald Mackey and Howell HowardLions Club and Rotary Club meet for a Washer Tournament and Fish Fry on Monday, November 2nd for a time of fellowship with one another and fun. Teams comprised of Lions club members competed against Rotary club teams to see which would walk away with bragging rights.

Josh McAdams and Chance Shoop was the last team standing representing the Lions Club and they were matched against Rotary team Will Lucas and Ed Johnson. Lucas and Johnson defeated them ending the Lions Club chance at the title. Lucas and Johnson then played against fellow Rotarians Howell Howard and Gerald Mackey to see which team would win the overall Washer Tournament.

Howard and Mackey defeated Lucas and Johnson for tournament bragging rights.

These two civic minded organizations enjoyed fried fish prepared by the Shelby County Cookers.

Both clubs are comprised of service-minded people who serve their community. A few of the community oriented programs each club supports includes scholarships for graduating seniors, donations to local programs and organizations which benefit youth, donations to local food banks, support of a wide variety of community activities, and more. The Center Noon Lions Club meets at noon on Thursdays at the John D. Windham Civic Center. The Rotary Club of Center meets at noon on Tuesdays at the John D. Windham Civic Center.
