Roy Cheatwood Announces Candidacy for Constable Pct 3

December 28, 2015 - Roy Cheatwood announces candidacy for Constable Precinct 3 in the upcoming Republican Primary. I, Roy Cheatwood, candidate for Constable Pct. 3 was raised in Logansport, Louisana where I attended Logansport High School. I married Jackie McFadden of Joaquin. We have 2 sons, 1 daughter and 3 grandchildren. I've been a resident of Joaquin for the past 42 years.

In 1993 I worked as a patrol officer for the town of Logansport. I attended Bossier Parish Community College Police Academy where I received my Louisana peace officer license with over 420 hours graduating with honors. In 1997 I challenged Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) and was awarded my Texas Peace Officer license. I have served as a deputy constable for Pct. 3 and a city marshal for the city of Joaquin. For the past 3 years I've been an employee for Pct. 3 in Shelby County.

When elected, I'll assume full duties and responsibility as your constable. I will work with all local and area law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of all citizens. With the new bridge and highway construction near completion means more traffic and unfortunately more accidents. Our first responder "Fire Department" will be at greater risk. I will do what is necessary to assist under any circumstances.

One of my "top priorities" is to protect our children and grandchildren for they are our greatest gift - the future of tomorrow. My experience in law enforcement, knowing the citizens and the roads in Pct. 3 will be a great asset to better serve "you the people" for the next 4 years.

Sincerely yours,
Roy Cheatwood
