August 1, 2025 - Notice is hereby given that a Special meeting of the Governing body of the Shelby County Commissioners’ Court will be held on the 6th day of August, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. in the Courtroom of the Shelby County Courthouse at 200 San Augustine Street, Center, Shelby County, Texas to deliberate and consider action on the following items:
1. Approve weekly expenses.
2. Public comments on agenda item.
3. Bobby Daw, Director of the Shelby County Expo to present an update on Expo events, improvements, and plans for the future.
4. Discuss and take action to retain, revise, or remove local optional fees from DMV Chapter 502 of the transportation code for calendar year 2026.
5. Tax Assessor- Collector, Debora Riley to submit 2025 calculated rates.
6. Discuss and possibly renew the Interlocal Agreement with DETCOG for 9-1-1 Automatic Location Information (ALI) & Geographic Information System (GIS) database maintenance services for FY 2026-2027.
7. Discuss and possibly renew the Interlocal Agreement with DETCOG for Next Generation 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point Services for FY 2026-2027.
8. Discuss and possibly approve the proposal from Architexas for architectural services for the historical jail window restoration.
9. Discuss and possibly approve the proposal from Architexas for architectural services for the renovation of the Shelby County AgriLife Gym and office.
10. Discuss and possibly approve the appointment of Election Judges for the November 2025 election, March 2026 Primary Election and Primary Runoff Election, if needed. Judges will serve for one year beginning September 1, 2025.
11. Discuss and possibly approve the hiring of a part-time employee for assisting with FEMA requests and documents.
12. Discuss and possibly approve a request of Pct 4 Commissioner to purchase a new office building.
13. Commissioners’ Court Reports: These are for informational purposes only. Any action that needs to be taken on the basis of these reports will be placed on a future agenda for action.
