SC Commissioners' Court Regular Meeting Agenda for Nov. 12

Notice is hereby given that a Regular meeting of the Governing body of the Shelby County Commissioners’ Court will be held on Thursday the 12th day of November, 2026 at 9:30am in the Courtroom of the Shelby County Courthouse at 200 San Augustine Street, Center, Shelby County, Texas to deliberate and consider action on the following items:

1. Approve the minutes of: October 9th Special Meeting, October 14th Regular Meeting, and October 28th Special Meeting.

2. Approve expenditures as presented.

Shelby County Burn Ban Remains Active

October 28, 2026 - The Burn Ban Order for Shelby County was ratified on October 28, 2026 by Commissioners Court of Shelby County and will remain in effect until the Court removes the Ban. Below is the ratification order.

Whereas, the County of Shelby is under imminent threat of severe damage, injury of loss of llife or property resulting from the threat of wildfires due to extremely dry grassland fuel, drought and other weather-related conditions; and

October 22, 2026 - Notice is hereby given that a Special meeting of the Governing body of the Shelby County Commissioners’ Court will be held on the 28th day of October, 2026 at 9:30am in the Courtroom of the Shelby County Courthouse at 200 San Augustine Street, Center, Shelby County, Texas to deliberate and consider action on the following items:  

1. Approve Expenses.

2. Public comments on agenda item.

County Judge Issues Declaration of Disaster, Order Prohibiting Outdoor Burning

October 15, 2026 - Below is the Burn Ban Order for Shelby County signed by Judge Harbison effective today, Thursday, October 15th, 2026.

Whereas, the County of Shelby is under imminent threat of severe damage, injury of loss of life or property resulting from the threat of wildfires due to extremely dry grassland fuel, drought and other weather-related conditions; and

S.C. Commissioners' Court Update to Meetings Schedule

October 8, 2026 - The Governing body of the Shelby County Commissioners Court will begin meeting twice monthly on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. This is a change from weekly meetings and becomes effective with the October 14th, 2026 Regular Meeting and the October 28th, 2026 Special Meeting of the Court. Should a current event result in the need of an additional Special Meeting or Emergency Meeting those will be posted/held as needed.

October 7, 2026 - Notice is hereby given that a Regular meeting of the Governing body of the Shelby County Commissioners’ Court will be held on the 14th day of October, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. in the Courtroom of the Shelby County Courthouse at 200 San Augustine Street, Center, Shelby County, Texas to deliberate and consider action on the following items:

1. Approve the minutes of: Sept 2nd Special Meeting, Sept 9th Regular Meeting, Sept 16th Special Meeting, Sept 23rd Special Meeting and Sept 30th Special Meeting.

2. Approve expenses.

1. Public Comments on Agenda Items.

2. Discuss and possibly take action on the current burn ban.
