SCSO Seeks Assistance Locating Multiple Suspects

June 13, 2019 - On June 12, 2019, a deputy with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office made a traffic stop on County Road 1210 in Center.

From past dealings, the deputy was able to identify the subject as Bradley Fountain, 31, of Center. As the deputy approached the vehicle, the driver and a female passenger fled the scene at a high rate of speed. The deputy pursued the fleeing vehicle, eventually losing sight.

Additional law enforcement officers patrolled the area looking for the subjects. The vehicle was later found abandoned on private property. The vehicle was impounded.

On June 13, 2019, a felony warrant was signed on Fountain for Evading Arrest/Detention with a vehicle. Fountain is also being sought for other warrants including Violation of Probation and Possession of Marijuana.

During the investigation and search for Fountain, SCSO deputies responded to a residence on CR 1168. Deputies had a prior knowledge of the female subject frequenting a residence on CR 1168. When deputies arrived, they observed multiple subjects at the residence. A male subject deputies identified as Joshua Dupree, 34, of Center, fled on foot at the sight of the officers. A foot chase ensued but officers lost sight of Dupree as he fled into the woods.

A male subject on scene was identified as Mitchell Permenter, 32, of Nacogdoches. Permenter was arrested for outstanding warrants out of Nacogdoches County.

On June 13, 2019, a warrant was signed on Dupree for Evading Arrest/Detention. Dupree has existing warrants out of Shelby County for Violation of Probation, Failure to Appear and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

The SCSO is seeking assistance of the public with locating Fountain and/or Dupree. If you have any information regarding her whereabouts, please contact the SCSO (936) 598-5601.

If anyone is found to be hindering the apprehension, harboring or concealing, providing or aiding with any means of avoiding arrest or effecting escape, or warns Fountain and/or Dupree of impending discovery or apprehension, will be arrested and charged in accordance to Penal Code 38.05 Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution, a Felony 3 offense.
