July 10, 2025 - Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) was contacted in regard to gunshots being fired, at MLK Jr. Park, located at 216 Park Street in Timpson on July 6, 2025, at approximately 10pm.
July 10, 2025 - Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) was contacted in regard to gunshots, and a gunshot victim, at the Timpson Quick Stop on July 5, 2025, at approximately 9:06pm.
Deputies arrived and found Tommie Lee Bryce Jr., 45, of Timpson, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
November 5, 2024 - Phone Service is reported to now be restored to the Sheriff's Department.
(10:40am) - The Shelby County Sheriff's Department reports there is an outage with the telephone provider and normal phone lines are down. If you need to reach the Sheriff's office and it is NOT an emergency, please call 936-234-1244.
They are still able to answer calls to 9-1-1. Please dial it only in case of a true emergency. The Sheriff's Department will notify when normal service is restored.
October 11, 2024 - Shelby County Sheriff Kevin W. Windham reports that on October 9, 2024 at 7:09pm, Chief Deputy Chad Hooper was contacted by an agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) in regards to a possible threat towards Center Independent School District (CISD).
August 13, 2024 - Shelby County Sheriff Kevin W. Windham reports that on Sunday, August 11, 2024, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a disturbance at Williams Landing on County Road 3490 in Joaquin regarding a criminal mischief incident. Deputies arriving found that there was an issue between numerous individuals of the property and Shelby County Constable Precinct 3 Roy Cheatwood, and that there has been a lawsuit between the Williams family and Constable Cheatwood wherein there has been a dispute over land.
