May 11, 2022 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a theft that occurred at approximately 4 a.m. on May 4, 2022 in the 3000 block of 96 North in Center.
A 2018 white GMC Denali pickup truck, a blue Polaris Ranger XP with an enclosed cabin, and a 2021 16-foot tandem axle utility trailer (Texas Trailers make) were removed from a building on the property.
February 25, 2022 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office hosted an active shooter training class February 21 – 22, 2022. The training was provided by DETCOG and designed specifically for school shootings.
February 24, 2022 - Visitation at the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office will resume Sunday, February 27.
Sunday visitation hours are from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Tuesday visitations hours are 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
To schedule a visitation for an inmate, you must call the SCSO at 936.598.5601 and schedule a time. Visitation slots are 20 minutes each and only one visitor is allowed per inmate.
February 24, 2022 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division initiated an investigation on February 1, 2022 that recently resulted in the recovery of stolen property.
February 22, 2022 - Shelby County Sheriff Kevin W. Windham reports that on Monday, February 21, 2022, at approximately 11:30am, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office received reports of a threat against Shelbyville Independent School District stating that the school would be “shot up.” The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division began a thorough investigation into the threat and in coordination with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Shelbyville ISD Police Department, Investigators were able to locate the suspect involved by 5:30pm the same day.
February 3, 2022 - Update: The Shelby County Sheriff’s Department reports, the suspect has been identified and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
