January 5, 2023 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a 4-wheeler. On or about December 28, 2022, a Grizzly 550 4x4 4-wheeler was removed from a deer lease in the Hollow Rock area located in the Silas/Stockman community.
December 2, 2022 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the community’s assistance in identifying the suspects involved in two separate criminal mischief incidents that occurred on Friday, November 25, 2022, in the area of County Road 4688 and FM 947. Both incidents involved a rock being thrown at the residences, causing damage to windows.
November 23, 2022 - The Shelby County District Attorney’s Office requested the pond where the body of Inga Lout was found be drained oin Friday, November 4, 2022. Jamie Hagler, Constable Precinct 2, made contact with Lenny Dupuis, supervisor of Chi Omni Environmental Solution in Center, and within one hour, Dupuis had equipment on scene. Chi Omni provided lighting, pumpers, a vacuum truck, skilled drivers, equipment operators, and other needed materials to drain the pond. Chi Omni stayed on location for a total of three days providing their services free of charge to the county.
October 31, 2022 - Shelby County Sheriff Kevin W. Windham reports the recovery of a stolen vehicle.
On October 24, 2022, Lieutenant Investigator Chad Hooper began working the report of a 2000 Ford pickup that was stolen from Carroll Street in Joaquin. Lieutenant Hooper learned that the alleged suspect of the truck had been arrested in Cherokee County on October 26.
October 26, 2022 - Shelby County Sheriff Kevin Windham reports the search for Bryan Aleck Krolczyk has come to an end. Krolczyk was located in the attic of his residence and was arrested by the San Augustine Sheriff's Office and San Augustine Police Department this evening, October 26, 2022.
UPDATE 3:30 P.M.: The search for Krolczyk is now in San Augustine County at Hwy 21 and Spur 85. Please use caution if traveling this direction.
October 25, 2022 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the whereabouts of Terry Wayne Goodman, 53, of Rusk. Goodman is described as a white male, 5’6” tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has brown eyes and red hair.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is seeking Goodman in reference to a 2000 Ford Ranger that was reported missing from Carroll Street in Joaquin on Monday, October 24.

October 18, 2022 - Sheriff Kevin W. Windham reports the arrest of Avery Brown, 27, of Huntsville and Raina Baker, 32, of Center, for theft in regards to an incident that occurred on October 14, 2022, in Timpson.
