May 10, 2023 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office will be honoring our employees with a luncheon on Thursday, May 18 at our office located at 100 Hurst Street in Center.

Shelby County’s telecommunicators, correctional officers, deputies, investigators, and administrators are the backbone of this agency. Our telecommunicators are the unseen heroes behind every call placed to our agency. They are the lifeline in the event of an emergency, and they care for this county.

Investigators Rule Death of Toddler an Accidental Death

April 12, 2023 - On Monday, April 10, 2023 at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on County Road 4297 in Center in regards to an accident.

Once on scene, it was determined that a two-year-old child had been run over by a vehicle. No foul play is suspected in this case. This has been ruled an accidental death.

Sheriff's Department Cold Case: Vanished - Cole Duane Jackson

January 10, 2023 - Today, January 10, 2023 marks the 50th birthday of Cole Duane Jackson. The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on Cole Duane Jackson, a white male who vanished from the Timpson, Texas area on July 13th, 2006. Mr. Jackson was 33 years of age at the time of his disappearance, 16 years and six months ago. Mr. Jackson was last seen in the area of FM 1645 in Timpson, Texas, and was seen driving a grey 2003 Dodge half-ton 4 wheel drive pickup truck. Mr.
