July 14, 2021 - Seafood Shack and More held a ribbon cutting event on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at their location on Hurst Street in Center.
Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassador President Stephanie Elswick welcomed restaurant owner Connie Brinson to the business community and invited her to speak about her restaurant.
Brinson thanked God and everyone who attended the event. She also thanked her daughter Bryana who she said is the love of her life.
"We do serve seafood, that is on our [sign] out here and the 'More' is we do Soul food also," said Brinson.
Brinson said the restaurant serves lunches Wednesday through Friday.
"On second and fourth weekend, I give back to my community and the surrounding areas, I do lunches," said Brinson. "We start at 12 and that's till 3 o'clock. We have delivery."
Brinson said deliveries are made in Center, Tenaha and she was still looking for someone to deliver in Timpson, San Augustine, Joaquin, Garrison and other surrounding areas.
"This is free, I just want to give back and show my love for y'all supporting me here, and God is blessing me so I want to give back" said Brinson.
Brinson thanked her uncle Vondell Sanders for being at the restaurant every day. She also thanked the First Lady of her church, Natasha Jones, and her pastor for their support.
"My pastor, he's always telling me to keep going no matter what, to keep going, so I thank him," said Brinson.
Brinson thanked other church members and family for their support of her business.
She stated the food prepared at the Seafood Shack and More is made to order, and is fresh and hot.
"I want all of you to spread the word about us with these free lunches, because this is free to the community and the surrounding areas," said Brinson.
The Seafood Shack and More is located at 411 Hurst Street in Center They are open Wednesday 11am until 3pm, Thursday 11am until 7:30, Friday and Saturday from 11am until 8:30pm. Closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Call to order at 936-590-6557.
