Severe Thunderstorm Warning Includes 70mph Wind Gusts

June 3, 2024 - At 9:02pm, Monday, June 3, 2024, the National Weather Service Shreveport, LA issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning to last until 10:00pm.

The Severe Thunderstorm Warning is for West central Caddo Parish in northwestern Louisiana; Harrison County in northeastern Texas; Panola County in northeastern Texas; Rusk County in northeastern Texas; Northern Nacogdoches County in eastern Texas; Northwestern Shelby County in eastern Texas; Southeastern Gregg County in northeastern Texas; and Northeastern Cherokee County in northeastern Texas.

At 9:02pm, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 6 miles southeast of Harleton to near Pinehill to near New Salem, moving east at 35 mph.

Radar indicated. Winds speeds in excess of 70 mph have downed numerous trees across Henderson in Rusk County.

Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include: Shreveport, Nacogdoches, Marshall, Carthage, Hallsville, Greenwood, Waskom, Tatum, Tenaha, Timpson, Garrison, Beckville, Joaquin, Deberry, Elysian Fields, Pinehill, Trawick, Sacul, Ponta, and New Salem.
