February 11, 2025 - State Highway 7 West was the scene of a two-vehicle crash Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
Emergency personnel with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department and West Shelby County Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene to the aid of those involved approximately one mile west of CR 1230 in the Aiken Community.
When they arrived, one vehicle remained partly in the outside westbound traffic lane and the other involved was in the outside westbound lane.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety State Trooper Keith Jones, at 3:55am a grey 2013 GMC Terrain driven by Victor Demone Mosby, 62, of Center was eastbound on State Highway 7 when he fell asleep and the Terrain crossed over the center stripe before striking a white 2015 Nissan Quest driven by Mohammed Farch Abdi, 54, of Nacogdoches.
No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
Mosby was issued a citation for driving wrong side of roadway not passing.
