Emergency responders with the Center Fire Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, and EMS personnel responded to the scene to assist the Center Police Department in helping those involved in the incident.

According to Center Police Officer Brian Wright, at just before 1pm a grey 2017 Nissan Maxima driven by Justin Triplett, 19, of Hamshire was westbound on SH7 East and was preparing to turn left onto Loop 500.

At that time a beige 2004 GMC Sierra pickup truck driven by Charles Carroll, 19, of Center was eastbound on SH7 East when the Nissan failed to yield right of way to the GMC, causing the vehicles to collide.
