SH7 West Scene of Major Two-Vehicle Collision

November 24, 2021 - State Highway 7 (SH7) West just under one mile from FM 711 was the scene of a two-vehicle crash Sunday, November 14, 2021 around 8:30pm. 

According to Texas Department of Public Safety State Trooper Keith Jones, a black 1997 Nissan Altima operated by Austin Riffe, 24, of Baytown had been westbound on SH7 when the motor in the Nissan failed, leaving it disabled in the roadway with no lighting. 

Riffe was attempting to push the vehicle out of the road when a white 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Chassity Ellington, 21, of Center was traveling in the same lane as the broken down and struck the rear of the Nissan resulting in major damage to both vehicles.

Ellington a male infant child and a female two-year-old child were all transported to Nacogdoches Medical Center - Shelby Emergency Department for medical evaluation. 

This crash remains under investigation.
