Shelby County Commissioners’ Court Special Meeting, June 15 Agenda

June 10, 2022 - Notice is hereby given that a Special meeting of the Governing body of the Shelby County Commissioners’ Court will be held on the 15th day of June, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. in the Courtroom of the Shelby County Courthouse at 200 San Augustine Street, Center, Shelby County, Texas to deliberate and consider action on the following items:

1. Approve and pay weekly expenses.

2. Public comments on Agenda item.

3. Discuss and possibly approve enlarging and renovating the jail’s laundry room and purchasing and installing an industrial washing machine.

4. Discuss and possibly approve the Reimbursable Agreement for NRCS Services Emergency Watershed Protection – Federal Grant between Shelby County and Natural Resources Conservation Service though the US Department of Agriculture.  The total project cost will be $3,627,963.00 with the County’s contribution cost being $906,995.75. 

5. Discuss and authorize the County Judge to sign and process the Recipient Request and Amendment for a No-Cost Extension of NRCS EWPP Cooperative Agreement.

6. Execute the Intergovernmental Agreements between Shelby County and all municipalities within the county which consists of the City of Center, City of Huxley, City of Joaquin, City of Tenaha, and the City of Timpson to participate in the County’s Hazard Mitigation Plan.

7. Approve the installation of a driveway culvert on County Road 3695.

8. Accept a donation of reclaimed fill dirt and asphalt from a construction contractor for Precinct 4. 

EXECUTIVE SESSION

9. An Executive Session will also be held for the purpose of discussing personnel, hearing complaints against personnel, or to deliberate the appointed, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee. The closed session is authorized by Texas Open Meeting Act, Texas Government Code Section 551.074.

10. Reopen public meeting.

11. Discuss and possibly make a decision on issues discussed in the Executive Session.
