Shelby County Football for Week 10 Falls on Halloween

October 28, 2025 - Center and Joaquin clinched wins last week of varsity football competition. During Week 10, all five Shelby County teams will engage their opponent on the evening of Halloween.

Center Roughriders earned a decisive win 58-22 over the Brownsboro Bears on Thursday after the game day was moved due to possible inclement weather. The Roughriders are now 4-4 overall and they are 2-1 in District 8 4A-2 conference play. Center will host Athens Hornets on Friday, October 31 at 7:30pm. The Hornets are 6-2, 2-1 after a 60-6 win against Rusk.

The Joaquin Rams took a 18-12 hard-fought win over Timpson during the Bear’s homecoming on Friday, October 24. Joaquin is now 5-3 and 2-1 in District 11 2A-1

The Shelbyville Dragons fell to the San Augustine Wolves last week by a 21-6 score. The Dragons stand at 2-6 overall and 1-2 in the conference. Shelbyville will host the Joaquin Rams on Friday, October 31 for a 7:30pm kickoff at Dragon Stadium. 

Timpson Bears fell to 3-5 overall and 1-2 in District 11 2A-1. The Bears will travel to Garrison Bulldog Stadium on Friday, October 31 with kickoff at 7:30pm. The Bulldogs are 5-3, 2-1 after their 48-10 win against Hemphill.

The Tenaha Tigers lost to the Cushing Bearcats by a 40-8 score and are now 1-8 overall and their District 11 2A-2 record is 0-5. They will host Grapeland on Friday, October 31 for a 7pm kickoff in the Raymond Jackson Stadium. Grapeland is 5-3, 3-1 after a 53-26 loss to Cushing.
