September 3, 2026 - Last week, four Shelby County varsity football teams won their season openers while Center lost their first game of the 2026 season.
The Center Roughriders lost their home opener to the Van Vandals by a 46-19 score. Center will now host the Cornerstone Christian School at Roughriders Stadium on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 7pm. Cornerstone is 0-1 after losing to IMG Academy National 59-10 on the road.
The Joaquin Rams won on the road to the Beckville Bearcats by a 43-14 score. Joaquin will travel to Tenaha to face the Tigers on Friday, September 4 at 7pm. Tenaha is 1-0 after a 19-14 win against Ore City.
The Shelbyville Dragons shutout the Sabine Cardinals by a 34-0 score. The Dragons travel to Hooks on Friday, September 4 for a 7:30pm kickoff against the Hooks Hornets. Hooks is 1-0 after beating Mineola 89-49.
The Tenaha Tigers beat Ore City 19-14 on the road last Thursday. The Tigers face the Joaquin Rams at home on Friday, September 4 at 7pm.
The Timpson Bears are 1-0 after winning against West Sabine 44-28 on the road. The Bears travel to Tyler on Thursday, September 3 for a 7pm kickoff against the Grace Cougars. Grace is 0-1 after losing to Dallas First Baptist Academy 44-26 in Dallas.
